The next single from Dierks is a good one.
I jumped the gun a few weeks ago guessing that Dierks Bentley’s next single would be the title track from his latest album, Black. It turns out that another song is going to be the second single. And it’s a really good one. It’s a bit different for Dierks, but he makes it work really well.
And he brought on an great duet partner for this one. We just looked at her song yesterday and today she’s back doing a great job with Dierks: Elle King.
Different For Girls – Elle King
The song is about how broken hearts and breakups are different for girls. From what I gather it seems that girls take it a little more emotionally than guys do. A guy will go out and try to push things under the rug while the girls kind of face things head on. It’s not enjoyable for either party, but girls seem to go right into the grief while the guys kind of prolong things.
The song has a really good groove. It’s catchy and by the end of the first listen you catch yourself singing along with the melodies and especially the chorus.
I’m sure it was a bit of a risk for Dierks to bring on Elle for this duet, but I think it’s a risk that worked out really well. She has a unique story and from listening to her music it seems like she has experience in this area. You believe what they are both singing about.
Great song. I think it’s going to be a big hit.
