Lauren Alaina

This sounds like a hit to me.

Lauren Alaina had a big breakout last year with her single Road Less Traveled. It’s a great thing for her, but also a great thing for country fans.

Lauren had released a number of singles over the years. They mostly found their homes in the 30s and 40s on the chart. Not bad, but certainly not what artists are looking for. They want to break out with big songs so they can have big careers and reach a lot of people.

The new album Lauren put out earlier this year seems very personal. It looks like she had a hand in writing every song. And it comes through including on this one.

Doin’ Fine – Lauren Alaina

I really like this one.

First off, the melody is really good. It’s kind of like a catchy late ’90s or early ’00s country song. It has that kind of feel and I loved that era in country.

A little Rascal Flatts. A little Sara Evans. Both from that era in country.

Then you dig a little deeper and get to the lyrics. It seems to be about a person that was struggling with things that seem out of their control. Turmoil in their family likely between the parents. All these kinds of things that are tough on kids and young adults.

But now it seems that the person has come to a place where they’re fine with the things they can’t control. They’re fine with life not being perfect. They’re still sad and hurting a bit, but they’re looking forward to the future.

Great new song for county fans.

Chart Estimate: #3

CML Points: 92/100

I love that lauren is putting it out there. What she’s been though instead of hiding her struggles she’s wide open and she rocks it! Looking forward to what she’s doing next!
