One of the more interesting stories of last year was Eden’s Edge. I thought they were coming out with a different song for their second single, but now the official single is ready and it’s a good one.
Unlike the title of the song, this new one is not Too Good To Be True.
Too Good To Be True – Eden’s Edge
Eden’s Edge rocks.
They really have something unique. There really aren’t other acts like them in country right now. We’re kind of waiting on the next hit from Little Big Town and Lady Antebellum has a little different styling. Eden’s Edge has a hard edge on their vocals and their music is more organic than Lady A (I love them both by the way).
Too Good To Be True is like a kick in the mouth song from Miranda Lambert mixed with Little Big Town and their organic harmonies and vocals. It’s a great song from a band that appears to be right on the edge (hat tip to their name) of breaking through even bigger in country.
The song is about a woman that fell for a guy. It turned out that the situation was too good to be true and she fell hard. He was able to trick her into being with him. Or maybe she wanted to be convinced. Either way, things didni’t work out well in the end and now the narrator is sharing that story.
All of us that have dabbled in love and lust know this situation. We almost make ourselves believe that someone is special. We have to take the chance really because if we don’t take chances we’ll never find that real person we’re supposed to be with the rest of our lives.
When we takes chances, though, we fall just like the gal in this song.
Eden’s Edge had a really unique top 20 hit in 2011 with Amen. The song was different and people not only took notice to the band, but they liked the song as well. The track wasn’t a huge hit like If I Die Young by The Band Perry, but Amen was a legit hit.
I’m thinking Too Good To Be True will continue to establish Eden’s Edge as one of the most interesting acts rising in country music right now.
