After his 62 show run Eric Church will close out the Holdin’ My Own Tour with two sold out shows in Nashville. The tour launched in January, and the 62 stop tour made it to 40+ states in a short 5 month time frame. Country Music Outlaw Eric Church has made good on the tours title with every show over 35 songs and three hours of music from his 5 album discography.
His Chicago stop was no exception pushing his set list just shy of 40 songs and past the 3 hour mark. With no opening act Eric breaks up the night into two sets with his first set including Drink In My Hand, Talladega and Mr. Misunderstood. With a short break he was back at it with the second even longer set that was a blast from the past with Creepin’, Two Pink Lines and Homeboy from earlier albums. Ashley McBryde came out with Eric for a rendition of “Bible and a .44” for her Jalopies & Expensive Guitars album. As Eric finished Springsteen and left the stage there was a collective call for more! Eric did not disappoint with a 4 song encore of Holdin’ My Own, Sinners Like me, Those I’ve Loved and Like Jesus Does.
With 12 shows left on the tour Church shows no signs of slowing down. The Holdin’ My Own Tour wraps up May 26-27 in Nashville, Tennessee. Did not get a chance to see Eric live yet well he has you covered adding 8 more shows to the back end of the tour. For the last 8 show Eric will (for now) retire the two-set model and bring in some special guest including CMA and ACM Dou of the Year winners, Brothers Osborne and Ashley McBryde will swing by as well.
“This tour has been so special musically; I can honestly say I’m really gonna miss it,” Church says referring to not only the journey but seeing everyone on their feet night-after-night singing as loud as they can for the entire show. “That being said, I’m looking forward to sharing the bill with some artists I enjoy. It’s gonna be a fun challenge to turn a three-hour show into a shorter one that can vary drastically night-to-night.”
