Blake Shelton

Blake should have another number one for his new streak with this single.

Blake Shelton got back on the #1 train with his last single, A Guy With A Girl. Much like Alabama, Blake had a really long run of top hits end, but he got right back to it and now he has another new single ready to make the climb.

This one is again something that’s pretty much right in the pocket for Blake. It’s a little modern with a little touch of traditional. With Blake you’re always going to get a little traditional thanks to his country voice.

There’s a little sadness in this one. I think you’re going to like it.

Every Time I Hear That Song – Blake Shelton

Songwriters must have a difficult time naming a song when there are multiple catchy hooks going on. This one is obviously named Every Time I Hear That Song, but it probably could just have easily been called I Think About You.

Anyway, the song is about, I think, a guy that’s hearing a song and it reminds him of a former love. It’s a little nostalgia. He remembers the good times and he remembers the reasons that things didn’t work out. But when he hears this song he mostly remembers the good times.

That’s how it often goes in relationships. There’s obviously some good going on. That’s why you get with someone in the first place. But the good isn’t always enough to outweigh the things you don’t agree on. You have to share core values and an outlook on life.

This is a good one from Blake. It’s probably the last one from this album and it’s a good way to end things.

Chart Estimate: #1

CML Points: 88/100
