It’s always news when Faith Hill releases a new single. For the last few years Faith has taken more time between her albums than other artists, but it’s always nice to hear her voice. I’m sure she’s been busy with other things including her family. But it’s great to have her back on the radio with a great new track.
American Heart – Faith Hill
American Heart is a great song. Faith does a smashing job on the vocals. The melody is great. After just a couple listens I found myself singing along with the chorus. That’s always the sign of a pretty good hit single. The other thing I like about the track is the laid back feel. It’s not an in-your-face record that shouts “America!” at the listener. It’s casual, but powerful.
Faith seems to be in an interesting place in her career. If you look back on her path since she first came out around 1994 you can kind of see how she’s grown as an artist. Back in the early days she was hungry and wanting to reach the top. She achieved that and more when she released Faith and Breathe. Then she released some really great music, but it wasn’t received as well. She came back strong with an album of great, fun music with Mississippi Girl.
Now Faith is looking to get back into the top five on the charts. I think she might have a hit with this one. It’s a good song. The only thing that seems a little off is the topic. It just seems that everything in Faith’s life is going well and she doesn’t know what to sing about. It doesn’t really matter though because she could sing the dictionary and it would sound good.
What do you think of the new song?
