A sweet, thoughtful song.
I like getting music from independent artists. It’s definitely a cool time in music. The barriers to releasing music are pretty low these days.
I think you still need a lot of hard work and a lot of luck to make it to the mainstream. But it’s definitely possible.
And despite being easy to release music it’s not easier to create good music. But once in awhile something comes across my desk that sounds really good. And I would say this is one of those songs.
Family Ties – Bill Law
I don’t know much about this artists. I struggled to find information. Although the entire album is available on Spotify and at all the other major retailers online. So you can check out the song and the album on those.
This track though kind of hit home. It has a professional production sound. It’s simple in lyric and production, but it still has a great quality to it. You find yourself singing along with it. The more you listen to the lyrics the more little nuggets you find that you can relate to.
Some might find it a little sappy, but others will find that it hits home just right. It’s about the importance of family. And we’re talking about close family and extended family. I think the lyrics are purposely left a little vague so that listeners can fill in their own details.
I’m curious to see how country fans react to this one. It has almost an Anne Murray quality to it that would have had a chance to be a hit in the ’80s. But perhaps today’s fans will connect as well.

I love the lyrics of all of the tracks, but “Family Ties” really brings it home for me. It justs makes you feel like being with your family around a warm fireplace loving on one another with conversation.
Thanks Jeff…And to David for reviewing my song.
