Blue by First Aid Kit

First Aid Kit is a band I’ve never heard of before. CMT Edge delivered once again with a country act from the fringes of the scene. It’s really cool to be able to discover these songs. That’s why I love the Internet.

So here is a performance of First Aid Kit. It’s an interesting song. I feel it’s kind of a sad song, but you’ll have to watch and see what you think.

Things start out with a part that’s almost speaking. The music starts out kind of dark and repetitive. You get drawn in though as the song continues and the girls pull you into the music.

It’s pretty cool that the girls came over to the US and put themselves down in Nashville. They started playing on the street just to get attention and now here they are on CMT Edge. That’s a pretty incredible story, but I guess there is still room to just chase after your dream when you really want something.

The song as I said comes across as sad. I feel it has pain and emotion in the lyrics. You can feel the pain of the girls in their voices and it’s almost like there is pressure from the world that the people in the song can’t ride themselves of. We all feel that way sometimes. There are pressures from those around us and sometimes we feel like just crawling into a hole.

I’m thankful for CMT Edge once again. They shared another great country act.
