It’s the second single from Maddie & Tae.
Here is the dilemma for budding country stars. You go against all the odds and get a huge hit right out of the gate. But now the pressure is on to carry that momentum into a second hit. I don’t know if it’s harder to get that second hit, but it has to be a different kind of pressure. Now everybody is kind of expecting it.
That’s the situation for newcomers Maddie & Tae. But after hearing a few of their songs I don’t think they’re going to have any troubles with songs on the charts. Here is their second single.
Fly – Maddie & Tae
Change often comes in country music when a new act comes in and kind of turns things upside down. Maddie & Tae certainly did that with their song that turned a light on the Bro Country movement. I thought it was really great and the song was really catchy and fun.
But these girls have so much more to offer and I think fans are starting to notice. With this second single, the girls are slowing things down a little bit. This song actually reminds me of the melodies and grooves you would get in the ’90s and even into the ’00s a little bit. It’s something you can easily sing along with. The messages is positive and I hope it does really well.
The country charts need more females right now. I don’t know what happened, but fans aren’t asking for females on radio, but that could be changing with the help of Maddie & Tae.
