RaeLynn is really starting to find her way in country music. I read an interview with her recently where she talked about coming off The Voice and she was all ready to go and conquer the country music world. But someone told her to take it slow and find her voice as a songwriter.
And her last single went into the top 20 and that is really something. At that time I remember looking and I think she was the only or maybe one of two females in the top 20 on the charts. So she’s doing something right. Here is a live performance of her new single.
For A Boy – RaeLynn
What I love about catching these live performances is that the artists will often share the story behind the song. It’s a neat little peek into the emotions and things that these artists go through. They’re just like you and me. They go through the same things, but they have the ability to put it to music.
So this song is about RaeLynn seeing this boy for something more than she’s seen other boys. We do have a reputation for holding our emotions close to our chest. We don’t really open up very often, but you can see that positive things can happen when we do.
The hook on this song is really good. I can see this one doing even better than that last single RaeLynn had out. Country radio can only ignore these women for so long. They have great songs and this is one of them.
