It’s been a strange career thus far for Danielle Bradbery. I was really excited about her after her debut on The Voice. She has an amazing voice and I was excited that she was a fan of country music.
But things kind of fizzled with her first record. But now she is ready with a new single from a new album. Let’s check it out.
Friend Zone – Danielle Bradbery
Now this is something different. Right from the get go you can hear and feel the difference.
It’s definitely in the vein of what’s going on with country music these days. Very pop. Very catchy.
But you can still hear Danielle’s voice come through and that makes it country. And the catchiness of this one will likely make it a radio hit and that’s big for Danielle.
The song is about a guy that is kind of struggling to get to the romantic side of a girl he likes. It sounds like they’re doing some things together, hanging out and all that and he’s thinking it’s going one way and she’s just in it for a good friend.
Friend Zone.
The style of the song is definitely playful and fun. You can hear the influence of Kelsea Ballerini on this one. But there are also elements of things that Carrie Underwood has done in the past.
So those are two pretty good influences to follow on this one. This type of song is something that’s working on country radio right now and I have to say that’s it’s pretty catchy.
I think it’s got a chance to finally break Danielle into the top 10.
What do you think?
