Jake Owen

Jake Owen keeps the hits coming with this new one about an ex-girlfriend.

Jake Owen didn’t wait long to release the followup to the smash hit Days Of Gold. The idea is for this new song to race up the charts and peak the same week Jake releases his new album on December 3rd.

Will it happen?

It certainly sounds like it could. Check this one out.

Ghost Town – Jake Owen

Jake Owen has been making his mark on country music the last few years with uptempo songs about having fun and enjoying things. But this one is a little different. It’s kind of like The One That Got Away, but it’s different. There is more of an eery feeling in this song.

The concept of the song is that the narrator is seeing his ex-girlfriend everywhere he goes. That’s what makes it a ghost town. It’s not the traditional idea of a ghost town that is left vacant. This is about the ghost of the ex that keeps showing up. It’s an interesting idea for a song and Jake pull it off well.

The production on the song is good too. It’s modern with plenty of electric guitars and heavy sounds. It has the feel of a modern day country hit.

I think this is going to be peaking at just the right time for Jake Owen. He’s really coming into his own now and people are loving his music.

What about you?

Is this a hit?

Chart Estimate: #5

CML Points: 86/100
