Tracy Lawrence is back with a great new duets album.
One of my favorite artists growing up was Tracy Lawrence. I remember my dad had Time Marches On on cassette and I wore that thing out. I think I swiped it from him when I got my first car around 2002. I couldn’t afford to get one with a CD player.
Anyway, Tracy Lawrence has been pretty active over the years. He’s continued to release new music independently. A few years ago he released an album full of new songs. Now he’s putting out an album that’s mostly duets with modern stars and country legends and they’re all singing Tracy’s hits.
But there’s a new one on there too and it’s the title track.
Good Ole Days – Tracy Lawrence
Brad Arnold from Three Doors Down and Big & Rich join Tracy on this one. He’s obviously made some good buddies in the music world over the years.
The song is catchy. It’s about how people tend to think about the good ole days the older they get. All the fun they had. All the hell they raised. How the world has gone a little bit off the rails today.
The lyrics poke a little fun about nostalgia and how it’s a little ridiculous. We look on the past with rose colored glasses. We remember the good things. We exaggerate them. And we kind of gloss over the not-so-good things that happened.
This is a good one. It probably won’t get much radio play, but I’m sure it’ll get some good streaming attention on Spotify and other channels.
