Gwen Sebastian - Storyteller

Here is the latest single from Gwen Sebastian. You may remember her from The Voice, but she’s moving on now and is ready to take on the country music world. Check out her latest single, Met Him In A Motel Room.

Met Him In A Motel Room – Gwen Sebastian

I love that Gwen mentions that country music is about the stories. That’s exactly the feeling I get when I listen to the great country songs. This track is a great one and I think it’s got a chance on the charts.

Met Him In A Motel Room is a story about a woman that is struggling with life. She meets her savior in one of the most unlikely places – a motel room. It’s not the place where most would expect to meet someone they need, but I guess that’s not something you can plan.

There are a lot of folks out there struggling and if you’re hanging out in the dingy places in the world then it’s probably where you’re going to find the hope and the help you need. This song is about finding yourself. It’s about realizing there is more to life than drinking and drugs. It’s about taking control and making the decisions that will turn your own life around. Some people need help and others do it themselves. The point is that you take control and turn things around.

Gwen Sebastian has a great country voice. She’s a storyteller. I like this song. It’s simple, but it tells a story. The music and the vocals don’t try to over powre or to gain control of the audience. This is truly about the story and the song and I think that’s just how it should be.

What do you think – is this one going to be a hit?

Chart Estimate: #25

CML Points: 75/100

I don’t care for Gwen’s singing at all, I care even less for this song.
