It’s great to have Sarah Darling back on CML.
It’s been a couple years since we’ve had music from Sarah Darling on the blog. We’ve had a handful of her songs here on CML in the past and it’s great to have her back.
It looks like she has a new independent album coming out soon. The first single is already out so we’ll check it out and see what this talented artist has been up to.
Halley’s Comet – Sarah Darling
You’ll have to help me with the meaning behind the lyrics on this one. I think it’s about a young person dealing with a changing life. I think there is a battle of love and career. I think we have a young woman that is looking back fondly on a love from the past, but who knew that she needed to move forward with career ambitions.
There is longing in the vocals. There seems to be a struggle with experiencing something that was good and letting it go in order to pursue something that was important. Maybe the future didn’t work out as planned. That would make it easy to think that a mistake was made and now you’re left just hoping that you’ll experience something good again.
There seems to be some real emotion in the lyrics and the performance. It’s a really good song with great vocals and production. I think it’s going to connect with fans.
