Lady Antebellum reached #4 on the Billboard Radio chart with their last single, You Look Good. How catchy was that single? So great.
Anyway, they’re off and running with their latest album. They took a little time away from the big machine of their group careers. They seem a bit rejuvenated.
Now it’s time for another single and it looks like it’s the title track from that album.
Heart Break – Lady Antebellum
The hook here is that the person in the song needs a heart break. Her heart has been broken recently. And maybe it’s been broken again for the who knows how many times.
She’s just looking to take a break from it all. The cycle of finding a guy. Spending time together. Falling in love. Doing all those things and then ending up broken hearted again.
It’s not that she’s totally over it. She will do that again hoping to find the right one. But she’s not going to jump right back into that. She might even turn down a few guys that ask her out if that happens. She needs a break from it all. A chance to spend some time on her own.
It sounds like a hit to me.
I’m always curious how label teams choose singles. There is one great line in here that talks about being single for the summer. We are heading into the winter months. I’m curious to see if that will throw any of the listeners off. I doubt it, but those are the things that pop into my head.
