We’ve got the new song from Chris Young, I’m Coming Over. It’s a great song and seems destined to be another hit for the country star.
But the new single also means that it’s time to say goodbye to A.M., Chris’s last album. It was a good record with three hit singles, but as you know there are always a couple songs on every album that could be singles, but weren’t.
Here is one of those songs.
Hold You To It – Chris Young
Do you hear it too?
Maybe it’s just me, but this one sounds like a surefire number one hit. It’s really catchy and fun. I think it would have fit right in on country radio today, but now we’ll never know.
Actually this one kind of reminds me of the type of songs we’ve had for about the last 15 years on country radio. I remember a few love songs like this from back around 2000. They were fun and upbeat and kind of silly. They made you smile as you thought about love.
And we’ve had songs like this recently especially from artists like Blake Shelton and Josh Turner. I think it’s just the type of song that country fans love and that really does well on radio no matter the era.
It’s pretty crazy, but it’s been about ten years since Chris was on Nashville Start. He won the show and didn’t have success right away with his debut album, but he’s come on strong since. And this new record will probably continue to see him succeed.
That’s good because he’s one of the traditionalist we have in country today.
Chris has done it again with another great song. Just a memory of the past in his past and everyone else past or present time. Love this song. Keep it going with great music!!!!
