Austin Peckham is missing home on this new one.
Austin Peckham debuted on our CML chart earlier this year. It was a good debut. The song did pretty well.
It’s neat to have so many independent artists in the music world today. They don’t need the major labels to reach fans. That obviously doesn’t make it easy to reach fans. Those fans have more choice than ever.
But artists like Austin keep pushing. They keep making new music. They keep looking to connect and to slowly build their fanbase.
Here is the latest single release from Austin. It’s a pretty good one.
Home In A Minute – Austin Peckham
Every once in awhile a song like this comes along that really connects with people. You can tell that there has to be some autobiographical feelings in it for musicians. They’re out on the road playing shows. They’re visiting country radio stations. They’re probably getting lonely and getting worn out.
So they think about home. They think about the ones they love.
But then I think it’s also about the parents that have to spend time on the road. Sales jobs. Service jobs. Military. All kinds of things can take people away from their families for extended stretches. Maybe that’s why songs like this really hit him with so many folks out there.
The melody on this one is good. And I like Austin’s vocal. He’s got a fresh sound while also sounding like a country singer.
I’m curious to see how this one does. Let me know what you think.
