The Reklaws have a catchy new single.
You know what?
The country acts up there in Canada have a lot of good things going on.
Once in awhile one of those Canadian acts make it down here to the States and really do some great things. Over the last few years there have been so many good songs coming out of the Great North that I’m just waiting for there to be a big wave.
Here is another act that’s new to us here on the CML blog. It’s another good one. Check it out and see what you think.
Hometown Kids – The Reklaws
I’ll have to dig in and find out a little more about the name. But it sounds like The Reklaws have a good sound. Definitely a little progressive. A little bit of the Sam Hunt sound in there. Maybe a little Keith Urban.
The song is about life in the small town. Where you grow up and feel like the town is yours. And that it belongs to all the hometown kids. The ones that grew up with you. That you went to school with and hung out with at all the big events.
And it’s still like that when you get together. Maybe for the summer events and festivals.
This is just a catchy, good country song.
It looks like they have the backing of a major label. That should mean good things for them in Canada. Especially on the country charts up there. And who knows, maybe it’ll catch on in the US and we could be hearing from them more in the coming moths.
Chart Estimate: #85/100
CML Points: 87/100
