People may not have noticed with all the other stuff going on, but Billy Ray Cyrus has released some good music over the last 20 years.
It’s hard to believe that it was over 20 years ago that Achy Breaky Heart was the biggest song on any radio chart.
We’ve all lived a lot of life since then including Billy and his family. The one thing he’s always done over the years, though, is put out music. The songs haven’t always been hits, but they’ve always been pretty good.
That includes this one.

You can still hear that rasp in Billy Ray’s voice after all these years. It’s a very distinctive voice. I think it’s one of the good ones from the country music vaults. He’ll always be a country boy from Kentucky no matter how much time he spends in Hollywood.
The song is about what’s happening in the world right now. We all know that Billy’s daughter has been making headlines. But in this song Billy is talking about the things in the news that tend to get people down.
But it’s not a sad song. It’s a song about hope. It’s about keeping focused on the good things in life and to just keep persevering as long as you can because things will always get better.
The song was written originally written quite a few years ago after tragedy, but it’s getting new life once again. Great song.
