Maybe it’s not a surprise, but some of the most “country” country music in the last few years has been from Tim. I’m thinking of songs like Meanwhile Back At Mama’s and Diamond Rings And Old Barstools.
Tim is always going to mix it up. He’s been one of the best at keeping tabs on the pulse in country music and fitting himself in just the right place. But he’s always been able to work in his country roots and he does that again on this new song.
It’s a really good one…
Humble And Kind – Tim McGraw
Tim McGraw could have found another game changing hit. He’s had a few of them over his two-decade long career. But he’s said for years that he feels like he’s just beginning in his music making career. And that’s a good thing for fans and it seems to be true when he finds songs like this one.
The song is about something we all face in life: being humble and kind. It should come easy, but for some it seems more difficult than others. It shouldn’t be difficult to treat someone kind. I’ve been guilty of not doing it.
I think the song is vague enough to leave it open for interpretation. It could be coming from a parent to a child that is reaching adulthood. They’re offering advice on how to live and the main advice is being humble and kind. It’s something that affects many areas in life. Saying please and thank you. Opening doors for others and not expecting things from people.
What a great song.
