Hunter Hayes already has a hit debut single.
The child prodigy is an adult now and his first album is just about to hit the record store shelves. There is a new song making the rounds from Hunter. It might be the follow-up to Storm Warning. Check out the new song from Hunter Hayes, Somebody’s Heartbreak…
Somebody’s Heartbreak by Hunter Hayes
Hunter Hayes should have another hit on his hands with Somebody’s Heartbreak.
The new song has a very different feel from the first single, Storm Warning, but there are definitely signs that Hunter has his own style. Somebody’s Heartbreak has the layering of vocals and instruments that Hunter seems to favor. It reminds me of the way Keith Urban really layers his music. There are all these sounds and voices coming together to form one really cool track. It’s a tough style to master (I’d imagine), but if done well it can lead to some great songs.
And Somebody’s Heartbreak is a great song.
The story of Hunter Hayes was that he’s been playing instruments and singing from the time he was in his mother’s womb. Ok, maybe not quite that early, but Hunter is well known as somewhat of a prodigy. He’s multi-talented when it comes to playing just about every instrument in the music shop. And his voice is like a mixture of Keith Urban and Gary LeVox. Those are two pretty successul country vocalists so I’d say Hunter is slowly working his way to becoming a star. He’s not there yet, but let’s see what happens in the next five years.
Somebody’s Heartbreak is a song about a girl. All the good country songs are about women. That’s my opinion anyway. Hunter plays the narrator that seems to be singing to this girl in an intimate setting. It seems like she’s been telling him she’s not the right person for him. She’s telling him she’s a heartbreak waiting to happen and there is no chance for them to work out in the end.
But Hunter is right there saying he’s willing to go through it all. He’s willing to take the ups and downs. If there’s a heartbreak in the future for these two he’s willing to take that risk. He has a feeling they’ll be together for the long haul and if that means withstanding a few heartbreaks he’s willing to deal with it.
It’s a great song. Mostly I love the melody. It’s like a stripped down Rascal Flatts song. With all the talent Hunter has with instruments it’s great to see him sing a song that sounds as stripped as this one. But don’t get me wrong…this track has plenty of great instrumentation in the background. It’s just done in a somewhat subtle way. Hunter’s vocals are right up front and everything else is there to support. It’s a great arrangement.
I’m thinking people are going to love this song. It’s could be the song that takes Hunter even further into the hearts and minds of country fans. He’s really on a roll and Somebody’s Heartbreak is another great country song.
