A pretty heavy song from Ronnie Dunn.
It hasn’t been a solo career full of hits for Ronnie Dunn.
But that doesn’t mean that the country superstar hasn’t been putting out great music.
He has a new single out right now. It’s a really good one. It sounds like something that could have been a huge hit for Brooks & Dunn around the turn of the century.
And I mean that in a good way. I just don’t know if country music is looking for this kind of music at radio right now.
But you never know.
I Worship The Woman You Walked On – Ronnie Dunn
My mind is a little weird. The first thing I thought of when I saw this title was that it should be:
I Worship The Woman (You Walked On)
Remember back in the ’80s and ’90s when just about every other country song was titled that way?
I don’t know if they do that anymore.
Anyway…
This song has a pretty heavy lyric. The theme going on is that just about all of us has a past. And if we’ve loved even a little bit the odds are good that we’ve been through some heartbreak. Maybe we’ve been with someone that didn’t love us back and treat us right.
Or maybe we’ve been the person that hasn’t returned the love someone had for us.
This song looks at a guy that’s currently giving all his love to a woman. And he’s kind of talking to the guy that she loved in the past. That guy didn’t return the love this woman deserved.
But this man is going to do his best to make sure she’s loved fully and forever.
Great song, Ronnie.
