A little risky from Dustin Lynch.
When Dustin Lynch first broke out into the country world a few years ago he was pretty traditional. You could tell that he was a fan of the early ’90s stuff with Garth and Alan Jackson and all those guys and gals.
But over the years Dustin has worked hard to forge his own path. He’s been working to find his own modern sound that fits his influences, but also pushes the envelope a little bit. He seems to want to leave a major mark on the country world.
When I first listened to his new record this next song definitely stood out. It’s probably the most progressive thing Dustin has done up to this point, but even if you love traditional country I think you might like this one.
I’d Be Jealous Too – Dustin Lynch
Let’s touch on the lyrics first. You have a guy that knows he has a great girl. He can see all the other guys giving him and her a few looks. It doesn’t get worried about it though. He knows that if the tables were turned that he would be jealous too. And he lets his girl know that he loves her.
Alright, that’s the story with the lyrics. The big story here for most will be the production and the sound. It’s definitely pushing things a bit. A little of that modern Nashville Sound. Like Thomas Rhett or maybe a little touch of Luke Bryan.
Dustin wants to be part of the bit time. His string of hits the last few years has put him there and it seems he’s looking for even more in the future.
