New artist on the scene.
This is the first time we’ve had Jillian Steele on the blog. And I always like to see what new artists are doing on the fringes of country music.
By on the fringes I mean those that are doing something that’s different from what’s mainstream right now. And I mean it as those that are working their way up the totem pole. I love that we live in a time when new artists can just release music on their own and the fans can have access to it.
It looks like Jillian has released a flurry of songs recently. I think this one is the next single.

I like her voice. I think the song is just straight acoustic? I’ve never been good with hearing instruments and things like that. But it sounds almost like a coffee shop song, but a really, really good one. This would have everyone in the shop paying attention and probably even singing along by the end.
The lyrics seem to tell the story of a woman that has been wronged by a guy. He might have drifted a bit or lost interest. She’s seeing it. She knows that she’s probably been with him too long at this point and she’s ready to end it. And her feeling is that this guy is wasting a great opportunity at a great life.
She doesn’t know about him. Both his quality to love and his quality to recognize love.
