This time we’re dusting off one of the best Christmas albums from recent years. This one is from Blake Shelton. It was released last holiday season and was a huge hit with fans.
There are some great songs on the record including this favorite.
I’ll Be Home For Christmas – Blake Shelton
This is one of my all time favorite Christmas songs. It kind of has a somber tone to it, but it’s all about making it home for the holidays. The sad part is that you get the feeling that the person won’t actually make it home other than in their dreams. Kind of sad.
I know Rascal Flatts did a great version of this a few years ago. They even put out a video for it.
You can see how this would be a favorite for country artists. They’re always out on the road and I’m sure they look forward to going home more than just about anyone.
But for others out there it’s more about visiting family during the holidays. Families take the kids to Grandma’s house for the holiday. It’s a time for the adults to head home to see people they haven’t seen in a year.
Blake does a great job on this one. He has the perfect kind of voice for this one. It has a classic sound of all those Christmas favorites from the 20th century, but he adds in some of his country twang.
