Brand new single here.
How about a country group from Massachusetts? That’s pretty cool. The more I write for this blog the more I realize how worldwide country and folk music are. And it seems like it expands the horizons more each day.
Anyway, this is The Novel Ideas.
It’s the first time we’ve had their music on this site. The first impression is a good one. It initially reminded me of a cool band you would find in a rural town where they’re playing at the local tavern. And the entire town is there along with all the visitors.
It’s cool.
I’ll Try – The Novel Ideas
It sounds like there is some struggle in this song. The need to want to get away. The need to maybe make a name for yourself. To find success. But what does success really mean? Should we stay? Should we keep doing things the way we’re expected to?
Maybe if there is someone in our live worth changing for it would pay to make a change.
I’m not sure if that’s what the song is about, but that’s what I’m getting. You’ll have to give it a listen and let me know what you think.
For me, though, the story here is the music and melodies. That’s what’s pulling me in for the first few listens. I’ll have to keep listening to dig deeper on the lyrics.
But that sound is pretty cool. Very folk and very Americana. It’s country, but it could also work in a lot of places around the country.
What do you think?
