This is an interesting time for Kip Moore. His debut album was a huge success with multiple hit singles. Since that first album Kip has released a song that made it into the 20s and another that made it into the 30s. Now we’re on to the third single from an upcoming album. I think this one will get Kip back on the right track.
I’m To Blame – Kip Moore
The song is about Kip looking back on his life and realizing that just about all the things he’s done wrong in life have bene his fault. He sees that it’s kind of the way he is whether that’s the result of genetics, his family and friends or just the way he’s gone about making his own life.
That sentiment reminds me a little bit of Mama Tried by Merle Haggard, but the song is totally different. You can tell this is a Kip Moore song with his unique raspy vocals and even the production and the groove is kind of Kip Moore-like.
Kip has his own style and that’s served him well so far in his young career. He’s one of those guys you pull for because country music can always use more characters and I would say that Kip Moore is definitely a character.
What are your thoughts on this new song? If you’re a Kip Moore fan or if this is the first time you’ve heard him I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
