We’re getting close to that time of year. I know it’s a bit early, but country artists are starting to release their annual holiday albums. It’s a time of year that I really do look forward to. Country artists, to me, are some of the best at performing Christmas classics. And they’re pretty good with originals as well.
Here is up and coming star Brett Eldredge with a classic from his newly released holiday album. I choose this song because I think it fits him perfectly.

Brett has that old school classic tone in his voice. His voice is a little deeper than others in country music. It’s also a little more like an old American Standards singer. I think that’s why this song works so well for him. You can imagine this song being played during any number of holiday classic movies.
This song has also been one of my favorites for a long time. One of the best times of the year is not necessarily Christmas Day, but all the great days leading up to it. You start to see people putting out their holiday decorations. The toys start filling up the stores. The kids start putting their lists together.
It’s just a time when many people are pretty happy. And that’s contagious. It’s a time of good cheer and songs like this capture that emotion perfectly.
Great performance from a great new country singer. I like it.
