This song is badass.
Sonia Leigh had a little flirtation with country music about five or six years ago. Zach Brown was trying to get his own record label going and one of the acts he signed was Sonia Leigh.
She got a song in the top 50 on the radio charts and an album on the charts as well. But that was about it. Things never worked out, but Sonia has been releasing music in the years since.
And this new one kicks ass.

If you remember Sonia from back in those Southern Ground days you know that she brought a rock style to country music. Her voice, her lyrics, they’re all about rock and roll. They’re edgy. They’re about living the hard life kind of outside the norm of society.
Back in my 20s I worked with a guy that was in a rock band and I would go see the band play in bars some weekends. His band didn’t always lay music like this but some of the other bands did.
This is the kind of music that I associate with many of those bars. The people would love it. It’s just music for people that work hard and have a lot of fun. They ride motorcycles. They get in fights. It’s just the way things are.
In fact, there is country music like this in the mainstream. Brantley Gilbert. But I don’t know if even Brantley could keep up with Sonia. This song is cool.
