Hosier

A big debut for Hosier with his new album.

I like checking out the country albums charts from time to time. I try to check them every week, but I miss it sometimes.

One of the reasons I like checking the chart out is that we don’t always get all the new country music on the radio charts.

Sometimes an artist will make an appearance on the album charts without major label or radio support. And that’s always kind of cool.

When fans show support with their dollars by buying albums it’s a big statement that they really like an artist.

This week an artist named Hosier showed up on the albums charts. At first I thought maybe the pop artist, but it was another style and one that many people are obviously digging.

Jammin’ Sweet Home Alabama – Hosier

This is a song with some obvious influences. But definitely not just one thing. It’s coming from places like rap, traditional country and much more. He also has a little bit of a rock voice. It’s all coming through as something pretty fresh.

I can see why country fans and small town folks would be digging this one. I’m from a small town and the lyrics and images in this song are things that I can definitely relate to.

It’s a pretty chill song kind of like Dirt Road Anthem. It’s obviously not entirely the same kind of song. Just something chill that you can groove to as you’re going about your normal life.

This is something different. It’s a risk, but Hosier seems to be making music he believes in and that’s true to him.

What do you think?
