Jason Michael Carroll is back.
After what I would call a successful breakthrough, Jason Michael Carroll and his label, Arista, parted ways about a year or so ago. It seemed odd at the time since Jason was having success on the charts with each of his singles. I think his album sales were respectable, but for some reason things didn’t work out and sometimes that’s good for both sides.
There was obvious talent with JMC and for good reason he’s back at radio with a new single.
Numbers is the latest track. It’s an interesting look at how our lives are full of different numbers. For the most part we don’t really care about the ten numbers on a phone or the number of blocks in New York City. Other numbers matter more to us and each of us have our own most important numbers. Birthdays, 100% chance of sun, one home run in baseball, four Green Bay Packer super bowls ; ) – there are tons of numbers important to us.
Jason Michael Carroll seems to have another hit on his hands. Numbers has a good melody. It’s easy to sing along with and I think people are taking to the song even in the early stages of its chart run. The song actually reminds of What a Beautiful Day by Chris Cagle. The songs have a similar kind of feel and both have numbers, but are different in their own ways too.
This new single and following album are going to be released via Jason’s new label partnership with QuarterBack, GrassRoots and Cracker Barrel. There have been some very successful albums released via Cracker Barrel. I think this track could be a success for Jason.
The song is good and sometimes that’s all that really matters.
