Hurry Hurry – Jessie Baylin
There has to be some kind of story behind Jessie Baylin.
She is like nothing I’ve ever heard before. She has this haunting voice and the music is some mixture of folk, country and lounge. When I listen to Hurry Hurry I picture myself sitting in a lounge back in the ’50s hanging with the Rat Pack.
Jessie just seems to have this smokey, traditional style that isn’t around much anymore. She has a way with the song that makes you feel like you’re crossing genres and stumbling upon something entirely unique.
I can’t quite put my finger on why I like this song, but it’s got me hooked. It has to be the old time feeling. I’m not sure if country music sounded like this back in the ’50s or ’60s. I don’t think I’ve heard music like this before. It’s certainly different from country these days.
And I think it’s a good thing. You want to be different from everything else going on right now. Jessie seems to truly be an artist that does her own thing. She has this personality in the song that makes her interesting and captivating.
I have no idea what Hurry Hurry is about. Usually I can pick up on what a song is saying, but in this case I’m at a complete loss. I have no idea what the lyrics are about.
If you know you’ll have to share it with me. I need to know.
I’m just taken up in the music and the vocals. I can’t focus on the lyrics in this track.
I can’t put my finger on it, but I like this song and video. I’m hooked. I’ve been listening on repeat back to back.
