Kelly Clarkson is no stranger to country music.
She’s had a few country duets over the last few years. I’m a big fan of her last single with Vince Gill. It didn’t reach the tops of the country charts, but I thought it was a very good song and a good country song too.
Kelly is obviously from the pop world, but sometimes we country folks like a little pop in our country.
Here is Kelly’s next single.
Tie It Up – Kelly Clarkson
Kelly does great on all kinds of songs. I think she’s actually her best on the songs where she has a little anger and frustration.
This song is like that in the way Kelly sings it, but the song is actually about marriage. It’s a little confusing at first because you think this girl is really jacked up about something and all worked up and frustrated, but by the end you realize it’s really just excitement about the marriage.
She’s kind of saying, “Hell Yeah!” to the idea of getting married to the person she loves.
If you’ve ever watched My Big Redneck Wedding you know there are women out there that have these exact same feelings. They are excited to get married and they want it to be a party.
That’s the kind of emotion I get out of this song. I’m sure it’s going to be a great single for Kelly. I don’t know if it will reach the top of the country charts, but it should do pretty well.
Chart Estimate: #15
CML Points: 80/100

good melody, lyrics are just another song. To many short rhymes, not a good country song.
We’ve all been waiting for Kelly to go country forever and her first solo country attempt isn’t quite what I’m expecting. But the singing is amazing as always.
