Kevin Fowler is a bit of a traditionalist with a little modern thrown in. For the last 6 or 7 years Kevin has been on the edge of mainstream country while becoming a huge star with his own large core group of fans.

Kevin has a new single and video out and the video has already reached the Most Played status on CMT. That’s most played of any video on CMT right now. That’s big time.

This is the kind of country music I love. [easyazon-link asin=”B00532JCZY”] sounds like it’s one of those classic neo-traditional country songs from the early ’90s. It sounds like Tracy Byrd or John Michael Montgomery cut this song back around 1995. I loved that era in country music and any time an artist today throws in a few steel guitars I’m all over it.

There isn’t much to the lyrics in this song, but there doesn’t need to be. [easyazon-link asin=”B00532JCZY”] is a state of mind. When you love having a few beers you just feel good and that’s what this song is about. For Kevin, life seems to be just a little better with a few beers. I can get on board with that.

Kevin’s buddy Colt Ford jumps on the video to help a friend out. I think it looks like everybody in the video had a blast. It also sounds like recording the track was fun. I’m sure a few beers were cracked during filming.

There is something to be said for being proud of who you are. Not everybody is going to like it, but some people are really going to love it. That’s how you find success in this business. Be yourself and make music for your true set of fans.
