Kid and Sheryl are back together.
It’s been nine years since Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow had a hit duet with Picture. The 2002 song reached the pop top five and made it to #21 on the country charts. The song remains popular with music fans even today. It was unique and there was magic between the two music artists.
Now it’s 2011 and Kid and Sheryl are back together for a new single – Collide. The track has a little more upbeat feel than the last track they sang together on. Collide has a little groovy melody with a fun and playful attitude.
It sounds like a love song about two people with histories of troubled love lives. They’ve collided together and are willing to risk it all again for one more chance. Perhaps this time since they’re two troubled souls they’re be able to find something to satisfy.
Kid threw in a little rock star on this track with the cocaine and booze reference. The song is kind of sweet though. Nobody out there is a saint. Everybody has their sins and checkered pasts. Let’s not try to hide that fact. Here we have two people understanding they’ve both been through the ruts, but maybe this time they’ll be able to make it work out together.
It could lead to fireworks or it could lead to another explosion.
That’s the thing about love – you have to keep taking chances until you find the one.
And don’t forget about Bob Seger playing piano on the track. That’s pretty cool too.
