Kip Moore

The guy is just so cool.

Kip Moore’s last single was a slow riser. It took some time for that thing to get to #4 on the radio charts. But those songs can be impactful. They’re on the radio waves for a long time. They aren’t shooting stars that are here today and gone tomorrow. They are slow burners and work their way into the memories of fans.

It was good to see Kip continue to find success on the chart. His style is different. It’s kind of outlaw country in a way. He does things his way. You can tell there are deep feelings going on with this guy.

Now it’s time for the next single and it’s another good one.

Last Shot – Kip Moore

Some cool lyrics going on with this one. You have a guy that’s looking at his relationship with a girl as if it’s his last shot. That’s the way he’s looking at it anyway. If he was driving a car for the last time he would drive it all out. If it was his last drink he would make sure it was some strong whiskey. Something he could taste and enjoy for as long as possible.

There are some really cool turns of phrase in this one. Little things that sound fresh and new, but also familiar. They make sense. That’s not easy to do. You can tell that some thoughtfulness went into these words.

And then you lay Kip’s vocal styling on top of it all along with a cool production and you should have the recipe for a hit.

Chart Estimate: #5

CML Points: 88/100
