So it turns out this song has been out since the spring. I’m way late to the game, but I’ve only just been hearing it for the first time in the last week. Maybe the song is starting to gain some traction. It’s certainly a good song and nothing I’d expect from Laura Bell Bundy. It’s a good surprise though and it seems she’s really more than just the Giddy On Up girl from the CMT promotions.

That’s What Angels Do – Laura Bell Bundy

Her voice is interesting. I’m not sure if it’s my favorite female country voice out there today, but I like this song. Previously I’d only known Laura Bell Bundy as the act CMT couldn’t stop promoting last year. She’s had two singles out up to this point and the videos have been focusing on her talents that weren’t really involved with singing. She’s a pretty girl, but she can also sing. I think this is the song that will prove that fact to the country audience.

The song is about those angels in your life. Everyone has an angel in their life that is always there for them. We don’t always realize we have these people, but they are out there. Sometimes we shut them out because we aren’t ready to accept their help or their love. I’m not sure why we do that, but we seem to do it all the time.

Laura Bell Bundy surprised me with this track. I think it’s a really solid country song. I think there are tons of people out there that can relate to the story and the emotion in the song. The melody is good. The chorus is memorable. I think this could become another hit.
