There’s almost a little Journey influence on this one.
This is a big one. Kelsea Ballerini has been one of the big stories in country music the last few years. She’s on an independent label that’s never really had big hits before.
But Kelsea took her first single to #1 on the charts. She followed that up with two more number ones and another song that reached the top 3.
That kind of success is big time. But it also adds a little pressure for the sophomore album.
Kelsea just put out the first single from that upcoming album. So far it seems that people are liking it.

I would say it’s a little departure in sound for Kelsea. Maybe also a little departure in subject matter, but still pretty much in her pocket.
The song, from what I gather, is about two people that have had some time being in love. They’re looking back on the time they’ve had together and seeing that they’re legends. Maybe to others, but especially to themselves.
They’ve had ups and downs, but they’ve been able to come through it all. Things are mostly positive and good and that’s really something to be proud of when it comes to love.
As usual, Kelsea nails it with a great melody. She has a way of finding melodies and hooks that turn a song into something that people can sing along with. That’s important in pop music and Kelsea is really good at it.
I think the song will be a hit. Not sure if quite on the same level as her first couple singles, but this is a good way to start off a new album.
