A great new Christmas song.
This is the first time we’ve featured Post Monroe here on CML. I’m kind of surprised at myself that we haven’t had them on before. I think we’ll have to look at their recent EP as well as this Christmas song because this group has a really good sound.
Here is their new Christmas song. As far as I can tell this is a new country Christmas song and I really like it.
Let Christmas Hang Around – Post Monroe
What type of Christmas song hasn’t been done before? It has to be incredibly difficult for songwriters to try and figure out something new to say about Christmas. And it’s probably just has difficult for artists and producers to find songs that say something new and that sound fresh.
I think all those things were accomplished with this song. It’s about the feeling you get right around Christmas Day. You have such a good time. You eat good food. You spend time with family and friends that maybe you don’t get to see and talk to all year.
You just kind of want that feeling to hang around a little longer. You know that it’ll be another year before it comes back around and that can make you feel a little down especially after coming off a high.
These women have a great sound. I hope this song gets some attention and that they can go on to have success soon in the country world. Their sound is new and I think country fans will like it.
