Aubrie Sellers

Aubrie is right on the edge of breaking out into the mainstream world.

Aubrie Sellers is one of those artists right on the cusp of breaking out into the mainstream.

She certainly has the pedigree to be a country success story.

You might recognize the name, which is from her dad who’s a very successful songwriter, Jason Sellers. He’s actually been one of my favorite songwriters for a long time.

And you might recognize the influence in Aubrie’s voice. That comes from her mom, Lee Ann Womack.

Here is the new single from Aubrie. It’s different. It’s interesting. It’s really good.

Liar Liar – Aubrie Sellers

You can definitely feel that Aubrie is going to do her own thing with her music. This song obviously has a dark theme. It’s probably best described as a cheating song. A woman is feeling the emotion of someone cheating on her and then lying about it and trying to get away with the whole thing.

There seem to be a number of influences going on in this song. There are some rock elements with the guitars and things like that. Then there is almost a little Alanis Morissette going on with the tone, but it’s not quite as angry as something like that.

The more I listen to the lyrics the more I don’t think it’s a traditional cheating song. I think it’s just a song about a guy that can’t help flirting and womanizing different woman. And the narrator is just getting caught up in it all.

This is a really good song. It’s different and compelling and I hope it finds an audience.

CML Points: 88/100
