One of my favorite artists is Tracy Lawrence. He had a huge run of hits in the ’90s and into the ’00s including a number one hit as an independent artist. Now he’s still out on his own and he’s been putting out some great music. His latest album was one of the best in recent years. It’s classic country all the way including this new single.

Tracy still has one of the most unique and wonderful country voices out there. He still sounds strong. That’s why I’m glad he had this live performance available to listen to. It’s a great showcase of his talent.

This song has a classic country sound. It’s stepped back on the production compared to a lot of the songs you’ll hear on radio. The lyrics and the vocal take the main focus and that’s how it should be because this is a story song and it’s one that people can relate to and really connect with.

The song is about a guy that’s trying to get over his former love. She’s moving on and getting over him. He runs into a friend that saw the girl out and even though he’s moving on he wants to hear about her, but he doesn’t want to hear that she’s doing well. It’s not that he wishes her ill will or anything, but it would maybe just be a bit easier if she felt the same pain he’s feeling.
