Brett Young

Brett Young sounds like he has another smash hit with this one.

Brett Young has been one of the most successful debut artists in country history. His first single reached #2 on the radio charts. And all he did with the followup was reach #1 on the charts.

So he’s off to a great start. Now it’s time for that third single to come out. And it sounds like another surefire hit for this rising country artist.

Like I Loved You – Brett Young

This one is a sad country song. And from what I see here on CML it’s the sad songs that people really relate to and love. I think it’s a way for us to feel like we’re not alone when we’re feeling sad.

There are so many sad and difficult situations in life. And it’s easy to think that we’re the only one going through it when we are going through it.

This song is about a guy that’s going through a breakup. He’s having a little trouble with it and the girl seems to be ready to really move on.

She’s trying to break it to the guy nicely. Telling him that they can be friends. All that business.

In the end the guy comes to the realization that she never loved him like he loved her. And that’s the case in a lot of relationships. One person simply doesn’t feel the same way that the other person does.

This is a feeling that many people unfortunately have in life. But that’s a big reason I see this one succeeding.

It’s also got a great melody. Brett nails it.

Chart Estimate: #3

CML Points: 88/100
