This one is pretty darn catchy.
When Big Machine Records does something with a new artist it pays to pay attention. They’ve had a great track record of launching the careers of some of today’s biggest stars. They’re also good at working with existing stars, but they have really launched some big careers.
Taylor Swift, Brantley Gilbert and Thomas Rhett to name a couple. Just huge careers.
Anyway, one of their new artists is Todd O’Neill. This is my first introduction to his music. This is a good single.
Have you heard it already?
Love Again – Todd O’Neill
I’m not sure if this one has charted yet. It looks like it’s been out since the spring. I can’t find out anywhere to see if it’s been on the radio chart.
Anyway, it sounds like it belongs on country radio. It’s a little more progressive than country has been in the past. But it’s got something fun and funky about it. Almost like an oldies track from the ’60s or ’70s. It’s really catchy and fun.
I think the lyrics are about a guy that’s meeting a new girl. He finds himself falling in love. And it sounds like maybe he wasn’t sure that would ever happen again. Maybe he’s been burned in the past a few times. Maybe he’s having a good time hanging with the guys on the weekends and doing that kind of thing.
But now he has a girl that’s making him want to think about settling down. Thinking about loving again.
This is a good one.
What do you think?
