This one is pretty good.
I give David Fanning a lot of credit.
He was with Broken Bow. He released a few singles there, but could never really find his breakout moment on the country charts.
And that’s not entirely surprising. His style of country music is different. It’s progressive. It’s pop. It’s also very interesting and usually very catchy and good.
But that’s not for everybody. It might take awhile before he finds that perfect sound that finally hits with some fans.
Check this new one out and see what you think.
Lovers – David Fanning
What do you think?
This one is pretty unique. It definitely would fit in the pop world. I’ve heard a few producers on the Bobby Bones podcast kind of describe this style and production as urban. Kind of bringing that dance and pop and electronic sound into the country world.
Sam Hunt has been one that has made it work. People love what Sam has been doing. There is this whole other crop of artists and producers in Nashville looking for the same kind of breakthrough. I just don’t know if the country world is ready for them all to breakthrough.
I like this song from David. The more I listen the more I’m liking it. But I don’t know which one will be his breakthrough. This one has pretty straight forward lyrics. A guy talking to a girl that he’s digging. They’re feeling each other. Something is going on. Can they take the next step?
Can David take the next step into the mainstream?
