I was late to the show apparently. I had no idea who Maggie Rose was when I heard about this new song. Then I realized that Maggie Rose is Margaret Durante. I’ve written about Maggie’s songs here before on CML and I really love her voice. I love the songs she’s released up to this point. She’s changed labels now and her name as well. How great is this?

I feel like there are a few women out there that feel this exact same way. They love their man. They’d do anything for their man. They’ll be his woman and do all the things a man wants, but they won’t take care of him like his mama. Some guys struggle to grow up and they never really learn how to take care of themselves. They need their mama to look after them forever. When these guys fall in love and find the girl of their dreams they think the gravy train will continue. That ain’t the case with women like Maggie Rose. She’ll be everything a woman should be, but she ain’t gonna be no man’s mama.

I can respect that.

Maggie Rose has had an interesting career up to this point. She’s released some great songs, but they haven’t gotten any attention on the radio. I think this song has enough Miranda Lambert in it to maybe make a run on the charts. It will just take the fans out there to request the song and get it going up the charts.

Maggie Rose is probably one of my top ten favorite artists right now because of the songs she’s released. I loved Mississippi’s Cryin’ and Maybe Tonight. They were emotion and the latter was really fun. I think there is room for Maggie Rose to become a star in country music.
