When I first heard this song I kind of thought about the Kelsea Ballerini song Peter Pan. This one is kind of the other side of that situation.
Kelsea, who is brilliant, was looking at a situation as a girl that’s with an immature guy. He doesn’t seem like he’ll ever grow up and she has to move on.
This song from newcomer Chris Bandi is about a guy that is looking back and realizing that maybe he missed an opportunity with a girl because he wasn’t mature enough…but he’s man enough now.
Man Enough Now – Chris Bandi
The production on this song is good. It’s kind of a good fit with what’s going on in country music now. It has a feel like it’s modern while still sounding like it’s rooted in country music. It’s got a vibe that is pretty unique. You can’t really compare it entirely to something else even though I get vibes of Tucker Beathard, Joe Nichols and maybe even a little Sam Hunt and Kane Brown.
It’s a really solid song. We kind of looked at the theme and what’s going on with the story and the lyrics. The performance is strong. You can really feel that it’s likely that Chris has been through this situation in his life. And I can say that it’s common for young guys to go through this phase. Maybe we don’t mature as fast as others expect us to.
Really good song. I don’t know if Chris is associated with a big label, but this one seems to have potential.
