Sara Evans

Sara Evans is back with a great new single.

After a few years out of the mainstream spotlight, Sara Evans is back with new music.

She’s no longer with RCA where she had incredible success for a really long time. She was one of the major stars in country during the early 2000s.

I’ve always liked her music. She had a knack for finding catchy songs that could cover all kinds of emotions. Fun, sad and everything in between.

Now Sara is back with new music. She’s going the independent route this time, but this first single sounds like a hit to me.

Marquee Sign – Sara Evans

One of the challenges for established artists is to find a sound that is both fresh while still sounding true to who they are as an artist.

Thinking back…Sara has always had an ability to kind of blend her traditional style with modern sounds. And I think she’s done that with this new song. It sounds like today’s style of country music. A little slick on the production while still having a foot in the old school.

It sounds good. And Sara’s voice sounds as good as ever.

The song, I think, is about a woman that’s regretting getting into a relationship with a guy. It sounds like things are over now. She kind of fell into the trap. If only he had been a marquee sign with his true intentions she could have avoided all the wasted time and heartache.

This is a great song. I really hope people find it and play it over and over.

CML Points: 88/100
