Cam

This could be my current new favorite country song.

So I’ve heard this song on the radio a handful of times the last few weeks. But I could never remember the artist. And I would forget the lyrics and the melody so I couldn’t ever get my thoughts up here on the blog.

But I finally remembered it and I hope it was worth the wait for you.

My Mistake – Cam

I love it.

The first time I heard this I had no idea what I was listening to, but I liked it. I know that music like this has been done in the past, but it just feels like we haven’t had anything like this in such a long time. It’s so unique and fresh, but still country at the core. I love it.

I’m not really sure who Cam is. This is my first exposure to hear, but from what I can gather in a quick search is that she’s been building her audience and was signed to Sony, which I guess owns Arista Nashville now, earlier this year. And now this single is starting to build some really strong momentum on the charts.

The melody is the real story of this song especially the way Cam starts with the chorus right out of the gate. I’ve always like that.

I think the song is about a woman that is about to go and have a good night with a guy. She knows it’s a mistake and maybe her friends are telling her so, but she’s still going to make it.

I guess sometimes we’re all a little headstrong.

Love this song from Cam. It’s already a hit, but I hope it becomes a smash.

Chart Estimate: #5

CML Points: 88/100
