It’s a weird thing. Two people come to Nashville seeking success as solo acts, but for some reason they struggle until they’re paired with another person just like them. They click. They find momentum and soon things are rolling.
Perhaps the most famous is Brooks & Dunn. They struggled well into their 30s and were nearly 40 when a Nashville exec paired them together and the first song they wrote together was Brand New Man. The rest is history.
I think sometimes we just need another person to bring out the best in us. To challenge us. To tell us know. To really push us to be better than we would on our own.
Anyway, I think there’s a really good duo on the scene that has potential.
Here is their second release.
Mysteries Of The World – Walker McGuire
It’s a unique sound. Not entirely traditional, but there are elements there. Not entirely modern, but it fits there as well. A little gravely, but not too much so. Kind of like Tyler Farr and Brantley Gilbert in that way.
The song is about a guy looking in amazement at how he got this girl to love him. He is incredibly grateful. He can’t really understand how it worked out so well in his favor, but he’s going to appreciate her for the rest of their lives.
He compares it to all the other mysteries of the world. He’s not going to try and explain it. He’s just going to accept it.
